After watching some of her shows, I can kind of see why she left.

欲望街车 and 陌生人 had her being cast in bimbo housewife roles. 欲望街车 maybe can excuse because it's a typical family drama, but 陌生人 had quite a few good roles (all the power roles got held by the guys, but having a girl power role wouldn't have changed the plot much), and she got one which ended up being killed halfway through the show and replaced by Ann Kok.

Even her role in 我的岳母是巫婆 was that of a housewife, although it had more room for exploration. That's not to say I didn't like the drama though. Out of all her dramas this was the one that she could showcase whatever acting skills she had.

石叻坡的传说 was nice, but it was just one episode (out of 5 total). Also liked her in this one. A pity it was only one episode.

精英份子 was a telemovie that she had a bit part in, as Zhou Chu Ming's girlfriend. Not much though, as the main focus was the contrast between Xie Shaoguang and Zhou Chu Ming's characters.

This leaves us with only 青春列车 (which I can't find on the Net and have no impression of). Can't comment as I have no recollection of it. If someone could link to a site that has this drama that would be great.

In the end I think her pretty face (and those large beautiful eyes) somehow shoehorned her into bimbo roles (compared to Florence Tan 陈秀丽 and Yvonne Lim 林湘萍 who could both star in period dramas). If she was born a little later she can definitely go toe-to-toe with the 7 princesses in terms of popularity.

I quite liked her also during her tv days and unfortunately she only stayed in Mediacorp for a few years and then totally disappeared after that.
