the price ($169+shipping) is not bad if you are looking to buy one now. but there are also other places that stocks brand new Kindles, Lazada SG and the marketplace subforum here. currently Lazada has some Jap and US sets going for $129 to $169, and that's excluding credit card rebates and coupons!
If I were looking to buy one today, i'll take the Jap version on Lazada. there is always some $10-20 off coupon code on Lazada. with free shipping it just makes the better choice.
and then Amazon often has sales on the e-ink readers, in fact, last week all Paperwhites had $20 off, no one brings it up anymore because it happens a few times a year
