Amazon Echo Dot - cannot set up

I bought a Echo Dot 3rd Gen speaker from US. Then i realized that the Alexa App is NOT available in Singapore yet. I am stucked...... I read from Forum that a number of users somehow were able to set up the Echo Dot in Singapore. Can any one let me know how to set this up . I am using Iphone.

Open US apple account and dl the app to your phone(if you want to update the app need to be in US account)

Not sure about apple phone, what i did was to google alexa apk and install in my android phone (must enable install from unknown sources).

then just login to my amazon account and my house is under alexa control

If your family members have android devices, can try this method.
