Amazon Kindle Paperwhite Announced!

I did not use my Kindle Paperwhite 2018 for around 2-3 months and when I turned it on again recently, I noticed the e-ink has faded quite a lot, especially on the edges of the screen. Adjusting the brightness, changing to dark/light mode, restarting, refreshing the page - - all did not help. I've seen the hack of putting the kindle inside the freezer for a few minutes. While it does restore the contrast/ink blackness to normal, it only lasts a few minutes. When the device goes back to normal temperature, the screen becomes faded again. Anyone else encountered this issue and managed to fix it?

The latest Kindle Paperwhite with 6.8" screen is good for mangas.

If you prefer a larger display, look at the Kobo Sage with 8" screen.

The lack of USB C is a deal breaker for me.

Just learnt that not good to leave kindle unused for long periods of time. Now one of moi kindle the screen faded already. looks like this but just not as jialat :

I use NLB overdrive often

Reading habits 50% physical books (preferred)
50% e books.

can borrow from nlb, but also will be gone when it expire in 2 weeks. for slow readers its kinda meh. sometimes i get busy with work & other activities and the book expired.

of cos u steal from NLB and make it perm. pls do not do this & it will discourage nlb to get this type of books if it doesn't get borrowed enough. pls borrow the book again.

i'm not sure how to convert to the taiwan store for kobo, seems for SG, its mostly english books but the selection for scifi and fantasy books is good .

Big screen estate is comfortable for reading. End up I did not have much use for the pen. If u have not used the Oasis then it is a big jump. Surfing web for reading is good too though limited since alot of scripts not supported ( which actually can be an advantage ) . Wifi burns battery faster. Reading PDF is much better than smaller devices.

I love the Oasis for the page up / down buttons. I miss that in the Scribe, but then again one can argue the size of Scribe is not meant for one hand holding/reading anyway...

Bought from Amazon quite a while back when they had a bundled promo, was 64gb bundled with premium pen, and a fabric folio ( but the fabric threads already coming off at one edge )

Shipped to Sg was almost / ard S$600

i saw a couple of sellers on shopee SG and one based in hongkong. still deciding whether to get from them or wait for christmas sale if there is one for amazon. any advice?
