Amazon prime now GPU

Hi,

Is it worth to get the graphics cards from amazon prime now? i.e. the 2060 asus strix can be quite a bit cheaper than in sg.

You will have to decide whether the loss of local warranty is worth the price difference.

It might be possible to RMA to Asus US but the process can be quite the PITA.

Buy EVGA. You can RMA to Taiwan due to their International Warranty Policy, which is decent. EVGA is known for their good RMA service.

Asus US don't accept RMA from other country if I recall correctly.

Choose wisely. Research properly on international RMA policy of the company you wanna buy from.

Evga is far superior if you intend to water cool or apply thermal compounds. Due to US law, they cant put warranty stickers on the screw. EVGA is cheaper on newegg/amazon compared to local distro.

I've not RMAed a Zotac so far, so can't really advise. However the process should not differ from any DIY RMA process. If your question is more of if there is international warranty, that I read it somewhere. I believe there are fellow HWZers here who have done it.

do u chaps look to amazon for the cpu and board buy from sim lim? whats the sorta go to favourites for each pc part.
i already have the gpu. thanks for info.

also do u guys use amazon us or local? and whats ur experience on shipping time? im already aware of the no warranty part of things for amazon. just wanna know, which is the pc parts u guys prefer to buy online, vs the ones u buy locally.

I generally buy SSDs and RAM from Amazon/ Prime Now. Of late, I have been buying CPU and motherboard there as well. Sometimes the price is just too good as compared locally. For instance, if you look up Prime Now at this moment, you should find a solid Ryzen 7 1700X going for 270+ SGD. Nowhere in SG will you find it at this price no matter what coupon code you apply. Also some mobos are significantly cheaper on Amazon, for example the Gigabyte board I am using for my current rig cost about 98 SGD (all in cost), while locally is selling for more than 150 bucks.

No local warranty. But for the price I got, I am OK to take the risk. If it fails, I just get a replacement.

Yes, usually graphic card has 2 to 3 years warranty. Enough to cover the life span of GPU.

Sure. But you do need to pay return ahipping right? Local evga if any, unlikely to handle your warranty.
