Hi!

I am just wondering is it worth building a AMD base computer as it's more budget? Is there any build that is within 1.2k?
kindly advise me Thank you!

Imo the only time it would make sense is if you are on a super tight budget and need a system that benefits greatly from 8 cores.

Mainly is for gaming.

CPU+ Mobo: ASROCK H81M-HDS + i5 4460 ~ $327
RAM: CRUCIAL PC 12800/1600MHZ DDR3 CL11 VALUE RAM (8GB) ~ $99
GPU: POWERCOLOR R9 280 3GB TURBODUO ~ $285
SSD: PLEXTOR M6S 128GB ~ $99
HDD: WD 1TB BLUE 64MB SATA3 ~ $72
DVD-RW: LG 24X DVD-RW SATA OEM ~ $25
PSU: THERMALTAKE SMART SE 630W ~ $85
Case: NZXT 210 USB3.0 ATX ORANGE ~ $69
OS: WINDOWS 7 HOME PREM ~ $120

Total cost: $1,181

Buy all parts from PC Themes and DIY.

If not sure of how to DIY, ask PC Themes to build at a nominal fee.

This rig should let you play most games on high settings.
8GB rams will suffice for gaming as most games do not use more than 8GB unless there is memory leak.

1.2 is quite some cash.

Currently AMD apu is value for money but thats for low end pc.

Since u have 1.2 perhaps you can consider intel i3 + AMD gpu.

Or alternatively, A FX CPU for that matter if you perfer the red camp but on some single threaded application the AMD cpu wont be as good.
