AMD seemed to be a dying scene, hard to find FX chips and motherboard at SLS.. anyone knows which shop still carries the variation of AMD? If I were to go into Intel equivalent (probably the i5), the bundle with mobo will be at least $350?

For that price you could buy an i5 equivalent. But if you know what you are doing and why you need to use and Fx CPU then by all means go to shops and ask instead.

Anyway just curious. Is it the case of AMD processors not popular with customers in Singapore that's why nobody is bringing in?

Or there are other legal or business issues preventing them from being sold widely here?

Try checking the PC Themes and Laser price lists.

checked...not that many choices of FX though.. and the mobo are pretty "old"..guess no choice but to try head to Amazon and aim for free shipping...

that sux then... ok.. will wait for newegg heh...sigh.. so hard to go economical

Are you implying that going for an AMD rig is more economical than an Intel rig? Or getting from USA e-tailer is more economical than SLS retailer?

well judging from the past... a decent AMD chip and mobo can be gotten at slightly over $200. Don't think it's possible for Intel case.
then again..what is decent to me may not be decent to u...:)

Your $200 is USD or SGD? There is a difference in getting in SG vs in US.
