AMD has admitted that its Bulldozer microarchitecture was a misstep but claims that its next-generation replacement, Zen, will deliver the performance improvements required to become competitive with Intel once more.
AMD hints at high-performance Zen x86 architecture | bit-tech.net

For many years now AMD Bulldozer still underperforms Intel processor
and they admitted that Bulldozer is clearly not the game changer.
Will Zen finally be the one to compete with Intel?

For me so long not only AMD CPU/APU based on Zen perform well
but also price decently people will start to use AMD again like
back in the good old day.

2016.... still a long time to go..... But Intel is getting rather complacent these days. So AMD still got chance to catch up. WE don't need 8 core monster. Just give us a good quad core will do.

Lol, preaching game-changer Zen like they preached game-changer Faildozer. Except that this they admitted a little something

Perhaps they realise Intel did it before with Pentium 4 so they must do the same also....:s13:

Hopefully no more faildozer V2......

Just hope they don't delay into 2017 and longer.... All i want for them is to achieve Sandy Bridge performance AND efficiency.

Not sure if good or bad, Sold out everywhere though.
Unless they move straight to 14nm, i'm not sure how they can keep up to intel..

The greatest and latest FX9590, I can put maggi mee there and it will goreng.

Lol..... Actually, contrary to normal beliefs, FX9590 is not that hot despite its 220W rating. Its not consuming near 220W most of the time. I did have a FX9370 before, oc it to 5GHz @ 1.525V, not that bad in terms of heat. Only issue is that its still slow compared to Haswell..

The champion in terms of heat has to be 5960x..... Imagine 4.5GHz @ 1.4V.... confirm can cook noodles...lol....

if you need to go 1.4v for 4.5ghz, there's something wrong with that cpu.

Greatest in cooking and luckily we didn't see this model
at supermarket.

Lol...take a look at your oven power rating. If you buy that for your mom for cooking, she will throw it away...

By the time Zen is out Intel would have release Skylake.

But I seriously hope AMD can compete with Intel at the enthusiasts level. These 3 years have really stagnated in terms of desktop CPU performance from Sandy Bridge era(Which is what I am having now).

Hopefully Zen and Skylake can be the game changers we all know from Core 2 and Sandy Bridge.

biggest game changer in all time was Athlon 64(sledgehammer)... other wise, just like from Pentium 133 to Pentium III...

Intel is not complacent or rather, they are smart. Why spent $$$$$ on R&D when just modifying current stuff will still sell like hotcakes.
