I really dislike this sort of graph. It is misleading, even though they want to emphasize on the improvements by truncating the axis. In actual fact, the improvement is only 12 - 13%, mostly I guess due to higher boost speed.

Strangely, the last 2 titles seem to be experiencing a regression in performance despite the clockspeed advantage.

Is AMD holding back on something? The 2700X is fast and has a higher clock than the 1800X. And at 360 USD? where did the 500 USD market go to or do they think it's sufficient a counter to the i7-8700K liao?

No 30% or 60% whatever increment from going from shared FPU to proper multi-core

Which also means that AMD could have been competitive all these years but no, nice decision to use shared FPU.

well, zen+ is just a refresh of zen...

zen2 on 7nm will be interesting when out next year.

there is no zen2+ and zen3 is still on 7nm with "+"
i would say best time to buy is zen2, zen3 is just another refresh of zen2.

Good that there is no more $499 USD 2800X.

2700X is a very nice buy with a nice cooler.

But I guess I'll stick to my previous gen 1700X. No need for an upgrade. Can't justify the upgrade...

X370 boards won't support new functions like precision boost 2.0 and overboost xfr sadly...
