If mobility is secondary, consider the Legion. It should exceed your expectations.
But the built quality and durability of thinkpad is better right?

I ordered my T14s on 4 Jan, the expected ship date was June immediately after the order was confirmed. But now there is no date at all. Hoping to receive it soon. Just whining.
I expected a quicker update. But it shouldn't be June. You could call Lenovo CS and ask for a date, and if they can expedite.
If you are still interested of the older model and see no point to wait for delivery since ryzen 5000 and rtx 3000 series coming.

Retail so ex.. buy Lenovo direct can save $500 + freebies (tablet etc)
Another issue to consider is there are other brands and even more models in the line up for ryzen 5000+ rtx3000 series.
Among which eg. Asus is coming out strong, besides lenovo. So really wait and decide which one you really want

For legion you also will have a few models to chooseBased on Asus current design that throttles, not too hopeful for their future models.
Yes it is. But if you have a budget constraint, then the practical consideration would be to go with your budget, and max the warranty on the Legion, or go for a smaller thinkpad and do likewise for warranty coverage.
These days, even the best built machines can have poorer parts - it's down to luck also. For example, even though Apple reportedly has access to better bins, I've seen motherboard failures (chipset?) on Macs the past 3 years within the 1st year of purchase, or shortly after the nominal 1st year. Such behaviour is unheard of in the past under Jobs.
The new legion 7 (not slim 7) is really
If want it really must save up alot more
