Good deal!!!
Good deal!!!
From a CPU perspective, they are pretty much the same Zen 3 cores with the 6000 series using a more refined 7nm or what they call 6nm, plus some low level power tweaks. So to me, I won't bother about CPU improvement. The real improvement is really on the iGPU, PCI-E 4.0, and USB 4.0 (if the laptop implements this). The difference between the 6800H and 5900HX if I am not mistaken is 10W TDP difference. So ideally, whatever laptop that the 5900HX can run properly, the 6800H can do so as well, though at a higher temperature, due to higher base clockspeed. Depending on the laptop manufacturer, they can also configure the sustained TDP to be at 35W if they want.6800H is barely faster than 5900HX. Also 6800H is for bigger laptop which 99% will have discrete GPU, so the idea of having strong iGPU isn’t appealing at all. 6800U/6850U for Ultrabook the is far more interesting with better power efficiency & iGPU
Intel's Alder Lake processors are clearly ahead in terms of raw performance. But that is often at the expense of higher power draw, and consequently, heat output. And because heat output is high and the cooling solution will not be able to handle that amount of heat, the sustained performance is going to be lower after the initial boost. The end result is usually that the AMD 6000 series APUs will catch up or close the performance gap.According to YT reviews I watched, the 6800H is abt the performance of the Intel 12th gen i5 but the AMD 6000 series is supposedly more power efficient and AMD's integrated GFX is supposedly better~
hooted this prime deal @ 680SGD, good deal?

Only for the U series it took damn long, from announcement to actual laptops with sufficient stocks availability for purchase about 10-12 months later, based on past history with Cezanne U. Plausible theories is AMD prioritize higher margins cpus such as Epyc first.Still waiting around for a 6800U laptop to show up in Singapore... Or better yet, 6800H with no dGPU (fat chance it ever exists tbh)
Was not really in the market for a new laptop in 2020-2021, did the rollout of Renoir and Cezanne mobile chips also take this long?
That only makes sense if mobile CPUs share the same ccds as the Epyc chips, but they dont. Unless we're talking about overall wafer allocation, but even then for this in-between generation, neither Zen 3 Milan or Zen 3 Genoa uses 6nm for their ccds.Only for the U series it took damn long, from announcement to actual laptops with sufficient stocks availability for purchase about 10-12 months later, based on past history with Cezanne U. mobile ryzen has always been monolithic, wont be affected by chiplet supply from desktop or server. remember that mobile zen has a significantly reduced l3 cache compared to their equivalent core count parts made from chiplets, eg 5600u with 16mb vs 5600x with 32mb.That only makes sense if mobile CPUs share the same ccds as the Epyc chips, but they dont. won't have issue. I bought a second charger with 65w for my Slim 7 Pro. Maybe for the first time or within the first few days, it can detect it is a 65w and shows a message. After that, it runs the same as the 95w adaptor.Hi guys, looking to get a Yoga Slim 7 Pro with 5800H. Noticed it comes with a 95w AC adapter. Does anyone who own this model know if there will be any issues with connecting to a 65w usb-c dock? Will there be any error or warning message? I know Dell laptops have this irritating warning message when an underpowered charger is plugged in. Just wondering if Lenovo has the same "issue".
Saw this at Best Denki.Still waiting around for a 6800U laptop to show up in Singapore... Or better yet, 6800H with no dGPU (fat chance it ever exists tbh)

Rtx 3050 with 4gb only!!! Look carefullySaw the Legion 5 with 6800H selling for only $1699. Not sure if there's a mistake in the pricing, but I thought it is quite a good deal.

Too bad i am not a fan of gaming laptop. I can't possibly carry this and walk around all day.
I think the price appears lower because of the shorter warranty coverage. The longer the warranty, the more expensive it gets.Saw the Legion 5 with 6800H selling for only $1699. Not sure if there's a mistake in the pricing, but I thought it is quite a good deal.
