My Thinkpad p16 with premium warranty spoils, Lenovo keeps asking me to do system recovery & hardware diagnostics & haven’t agreed to pick it up. This is the worst experience I had have with them.
Imagine I’m an uncle/auntie, will they ask me to do such things?

Which part is spoilt? Keyboard damage or software crash?

Can you do a hardware diagnostic to let us know first? :(

They aren’t certail what’s the root cause. That’s the problem. All diagnostic tests passed.

update: they agreed to send technician to my place to replace SSD. But also said it’s not guaranteed to solve the problem…
Will never buy new model again….

Update2: issue persists after ssd replacement, they’re waiting for new motherboard to arrive for replacement

Random auto restart, even at windows logon screen, haven’t done anything. Brand new, fresh OS, no software installed
i also experience random sudden power off on my 2 year old lenovo legion for past 6 months. I remove my memory and rubbed the metals connects, this far the issue did not appear again.

U can try to remove the memory then use eraser on the copper or gold connects. might work.

or u run memtest86 or tell lenovo the memory spoilts.

Diagnostic tests already cover memory test. All passed. We run it multiple times.
Mine is consistent restart, it’s not once in a while. Also I would leave the decision on which part to replace to Lenovo.
But ya appreciate your suggestion & sharing. I will ask them to try that next time they open it.
This is a new chasis so I’m afraid I will break some plastic clip in the process :(

My experience with their servicing is quite good actually. The diagnostics do take some time, and so are the to and fros. But eventually, their technician servicing and part replacement (if necessary) are quite well done.

I did also have good experience servicing a Legion 7 before with spoiled speakers. This time it's just not at the same level. Still, I'm happy to see that the motherboard is coming and hope the issue gets fixed soon

the most ideal is 17.3' 4k/5k OLED Legion, not sure why newer model no longer have 17.3. max only 16.
