just pray that you don't require after sales service because their support is trash

i guess that's why its cheap

lenovo techs literally screw your laptop over and set it up for 'early failure', and if you find that out their cso will gaslight you, and exploit the situation for profit.

they are literally sharks, there's a lot of complain on lenovo after sales service here as well

i find their service standard very poor also because i own a lenovo yoga pro 7 myself, and the technician also **** up when replacing motherboard.

Looking at Razer Blade 16 2025, 5070ti or 5080 variant.
Or Razer Blade 14 5070 model.

Any thoughts?

Usually they outsource the service centre to vendor one.
Used to work with one of the big laptop brands as the site engineer for parts replacement of desktops and laptops. That brand completely outsourced to the company I was working with back then. All the way from service center(except the front counters, those are employed by the brand) to the guys you see going around doing site repair/replacements.
Only their level 2 support and above is employed by the brand.

So if there are enough complains to boot out this vendor, we can see lenovo changing to another vendor after their contract with the current one ends and hope for an improvement.

Opus? I think so doubt they have change for more than 10 years already.
I heard about complaints also so hopefully Lenovo drop them for another vendor.

Hi,

Looking at all the laptops, I am kinda confused. Appreciate your help to help select.

I thought I will get the laptop from Lazada in the upcoming 9.9. sale.

I am looking for a laptop can do the following :
- Watching streaming shows on multiple platforms
- Design software like Figma
- Office stuff from google sheets or Excel etc...
- Support for using my 5Gbps Internet (USB 4/thunderbolt?) for adaptor?
- Using it to edit/modify recorded videos using various software
- Download videos and upload videos torrents / Google Drive etc....
- Multiple different types of USB ports
- Fast SSD NVme? -

Is it important to have more DDR5 Ram ?? if I am using a lot of Co-pilot / ChatGPT stuff for deep research / image generation etc....I notice the browser keeps on saying out of memory and I have restart multiple times.

Not looking for high end laptop , just basic / mid will do.

I will mostly use it at home only.

Appreciate any help you can provide.
Thanx!

if u are using at home, have u considered mac mini desktop? connect to your existing tv or monitor

refurbished sets starting from $439

re: 9.9, do look at both sides, shopee and lazada

as one of your requirements is video editing, do be careful, "basic/mid" laptop models may struggle with video editing, look for models with dedicated gpu

Thanks for the reply. 🙏
I was reading up and it seems it would be better to get a Mini PC as they are cheaper and better specs?
As I use it at home only.
Appreciate your opinion.
Thank You.

this is notebook thread, suggest to focus on that

i already suggested mac mini option as possible alternative earlier

do not look at mini pc as a choice, look for suitable model, not all mini pc can do video editing

I have never used a Mac and all the software I have are PC based so thus my hesitation.

Thank you for the recommendation, however, appreciate it.

If using at home the best overall mini pc would be a mac mini.. bar none..

Given the price and performance, it is hard to beat honest. :o

Just remember to choose the configuration that fits your needs.
