But remember the TDP is not equal to the wattage pull by the CPU in AMD case will be higher

Ecores in ADL is skylake levels, just cant boost as high.
New Ecores in RL should be even better!

Amd Zen4 also getting TDP increase, siao liao.

5950X rated 105W TDP
7950X rated 170W TDP :o

the higher the more people buy

True and fair.

As for laptop it will lock down all the upgrade path of CPU and GPU to one generation.

I really have no comments for the price of gaming laptop whether worth it usage or not as is really up to individual pocket.

The claimed performance numbers don't quite add up. 5% gain in clock speed does not equate to 5% gain in performance in ST. So if the IPC is 8 to 10%, I don't see where the more than 15% number comes from.

going to ddr5 will be backwards for most users unless they can get 6400+ bins for an affordable price. Latency on amd is already high with ddr4 (tuned 3800c14 55ns roughly, high 60s/70s stock xmp for 3600c16), can't imagine what it would be like for ddr5. Initial zen4 won't have enough cache to cover for bad ram, hopefully performance uplift would be good enough to cover for lack of ddr5 optimization.

Ryzen 7000 is looking to be more of a leap in performance than the official 15% single thread, if the 7600 can really outperform the 5950X. It will be like the transition from RTX 2000 to 3000, when even the RTX 3070 can match the previous gen 2080Ti flagship.

Gaming performance doesn't surprise.
