so on how many QVL?

Most of the time only those who build servers and go for stability over performance will care. Those who build high-performance PAK game PC, don't really care.

However, QVL also cannot always/fully be trusted, coz it was tested in the vendors' controlled environment/setup. Normally there are SOPs during such testing on the board manufacturer side, but the data are best to be use as a (first) reference. Like always, I will still purchase memory based on reputable brands with good return policy.

Yeah but this CSO is a bit too much, well hopefully they will update their page as i'm looking for some good rams, the 6000 c26 one.. don't know when will be available.

I don't mind manual tuning but with agesa updates might change stability and after updating bios need to slap back the settings again and test.
yeah we need to expect Agesa update is very frequently and tuning memory is not fun.

nevertheless i believe any memory on expo/xmp can be lower than 70ns latency is good ram, especially if pair with x3D cpu,

Honestly most kits can do under 70 with stock expo setting, the really cheap rig i bought came with 6000 CL36 and its 67.6ns, so i am looking for better ram.

Amazon SG has the 9800X3D for S$782, shipped and sold by Amazon US. Those who want one should grab while stocks last.
Thanks just bought it

Checked out Amazon.com and it actually come out to be $734 priority delivery

this if for gaming is very good, unless productivity is main priority.

i am not using fan to cool my ram nowadays and below is my system performance after 1 hours of ff16 session looking at the RAM temperature.

if going higher speed or tighter timing the heat i believe will definately higher. room temp 29c no aircone as it a cool night.

for now on this game on zen 4 basically an uplift compared to 5800x3D even 7600 only 6 core cpu when paired with 6400cl32

should have paid in USD using revolut/youtrip. That conversion rate is sooo marked up
Its because they have a currency exchange guarantee fee, its fine because if I cancel or something happens I will get full amount back in SGD.

Yeah i think the ram side is already very good, but the problem is that on AM5 the surface area is too small to transfer the heat for overclocking.

On AM4 130W Package, i still can cool the chip fairly well, but on AM5 package 130W is +20C with the same cooler . This is with my PBO setting set to "motherboard", so the asus mb will decide because i got no choice. Setting my own PBO manual values will cause a bug where my processor run at 500MHz no matter the values, idk why this bug is even there, i got no issues on my asrock board.

Nevertheless i managed go past 20k score on ** with a 7700, with crappy ram lol, so this was running at average 5.3GHz all core i believe.

it is normal latency for expo kit.

do you set the memory MCLK = UCLK in bios?
I just left it as normal, just worried since i saw alot of ppl with 6000mhz ram cl30-36-36-96 but the latency is 60 ns. Didn't have any issues when gaming, just thought my benchmark seemed high. Only turned on EXPO and PBO -37. I guess its not that important if im only gaming?

For my experience it makes quite a big difference in gaming, if I manually tune my ram then playing games at 600fps I would see rendering latency below 1ms, expo usually it hovers around 3ms.

People will say it doesn't make a difference but I play multiple games at competitive level even 240Hz OLED is too slow for my usage.

Are there games that even the 9800X3D cannot get 60 fps at whatever settings or resolutions, despite no GPU bottleneck?

You are using the 7800x3D chip. Memory latency is not that significant impact on gaming as CPU L3 cache take priority.

good to know, was just wondering if it mattered. Is it worth looking into manually tuning? Coming from someone that only know pbo / pbo limits and undervolting
