Centurion

Hey there. Just wanted to add my two cents worth. We are actually Centurion card holders, and, as one of you mentioned, the annual fee has just gone up. To be honest, it is really not worth the money at all. Travel services are more expensive than what you can get online, services are mostly chargeable, e.g.. buying theatre tickets, etc. Concierge services are quite good, but then again, I can easily check restaurant numbers and call myself on hungrygowhere! We've had the card for a few years now, and are now considering giving it up with the price increase. Plus, let me tell you, though alot of people comment about the look and weight of the card(because its heavy), the only comment I hear is "Wah, so heavy,", or "Special ah, this card, so heavy", so I always just reply "Yah, so if someone try to steal it, you can use it to 'chop' them!" I have yet to meet someone who actually knows what it actually is! Or what it is supposed to represent. So if you think it'll get you the recognition, trust me, it doesn't. It just helps you get asked some stupid questions/comments. Or perhaps, I'm not spending time in Ferrari, or Hermes, so have never experienced being handled for a transaction by someone who knows Centurion.

Hi Nubarron,

Thank u for sharing, appreciated.

May I ask, what's the actual requirement for the Centurion card?

We have heard lots of different stories about the card and its invitation requirements... we appreciate if u could share more on your Centurion experience as a card holder, the things about Centurion, and last but not least, the ways to received an invitation... :)

Many thanks!

Actually, the nicest card in AMEX is the Green Classic Card!

Holding it as company card for more than 10years (over 2 companies) .
With chip though.

Just wondered what's the fuss over this card

Amex centurion looks at the spending pattern, amount spent per transaction, type of spending etc among other standard checks

Amex charge card holders can try to call the dedicated concierge and put in a request for Amex centurion. Subjected to approval.

isnt ultima close to private bank too? 2-5mil aum?

maybe but banks are unlike hotel loyalty programs where they can match status without any stays in different hotel groups and so due to limited funds, can only bank into 1 bank :o

biz class tickets too expensive...also i think its easy to get cheaper biz tickets during promo periods

only 1 for 1 night (max 2 free nights per trip) if book any hotel under the visa luxury hotels - some countries are not in the list.

For wealthy people who are capable for owning centurion... I'm sure they are looking at "instant service" or dedicated butler

Eh check with your Ultima RM, should be auto upgrade to hhonor diamond, same as UOB reserve card.

yea, now they use normal ticket price, use to be cheapest you can find online.

i thought the 1 for 1 night free is like citi prestige? any hotel also can?

eh its not in their website for probably not. its also not stated for the uob reserve in their website...all these cards like trying to be secretive on their privileges :s13:

i like uob reserve giving free birthday meals...citi only gets birthday cake :(

yes citi prestige is for any hotel but ultima only restricted to those hotels under the visa luxury collection - usually more expensive types haha
