An Upgrade Setup

Hi,

I have purchased some parts yesterday and looking to combine with my older system. Appreciate for some advice:

Asrock H87M Pro4
i5 4570
2 x 8gb Gskill 1600 rams
Samsung 840 Evo 250gb SSD
2 x 2TB WD Green
Seasonic 620M
Fractal Define R3 Case

The above is my current setup.

1) I still have my 2 x 4gb Gskill 1333 rams from my i5 2500. Should i add to the above and max all 4 slots? I understand if so, the 2 x 6gb will be pulled down?

2) I have a Sapphire HD6450 1gb. I'm thinking to add to the above. Is this card lousier than the ASrock onboard graphics by a lot?

3) Any specific settings for running on SSD to make it fast in booting to windows etc?

1) Your slower memory will pull down the performance of the faster memory. So instead of running at 1600, it will be running at the lower 1333. To be honest, 16B is a lot of memory, so I think you should just stick to the new GSkill ram, and sell the old one off.

2) Do you game on your PC? If so, the HD 6450 will be a mismatch to your needs. Its a good card for say HTPC, but ill suited for games. It will manage only at very low settings.

3) Do note SSDs typically gets slower over time once you start using it, and will eventually stabilize in performance. When optimizing, I think its more of prolonging the lifespan of the SSD, rather than for performance.

I don't play games practically. Even if there is, would be some good old games like WC3 etc but very seldom.

Mostly the rig is for work, surfing, heavy duty HD movies viewing etc.

Was recommended getting SSD from SLS due to better performance, faster and processing.
