Android app recommendations

I'm quite new to the Android ecosystem as I primarily used Apple devices. Having recently obtained a Nexus 7 (2013), I was wondering if the Android regulars here can share the apps they find useful, especially for uni.

but my useful apps may not be (and most likely not) your use apps right? so it all boils down, what do u wanna do with ur tablet?

having used Android since the HTC Magic era till now, i've only one advice. try to choose apps dat sync ur data to the cloud. so dat u can access the same data across different platforms. n u know ur tablet won't last u a life time. if u ever change ur tablet, ur data is only a sync away.
