In my opinion, don't bother about re-rolling.
I am very new to the game, less than a month. I would say the free 4star character given by the game is 9/10.

Focus on your Fire Unit for now to get to end game content.

This is a very grindy game for me.
I quit late last year leaving those FE and Gala units behind.

Never knew MC and Marth will be top tier now, and almost all Eli versions are good too.

very easy to rejoin back
esp they give out lots of gems
juz go thru 2 events and skip 2, 3 banners then can save up for gala summon liao

currently more and more old units getting mana spiral tat boost their usability
