Android pie v9 breaks useful call recording apps. Any solution?

I heard that upgrading to Android pie v9 will break call recording apps. Is this true? Anyone encounter this problem and what is your solution?

Xiaomi Phones had this built in, though I have not used it as don't see the need to nowadays.
