Andyson Power Supply "exploded"

I was restarting my com in the morning when i heard a super loud "POP" and short circuited the whole house. Then i realised the PSU spolit already.

Luckily, i had a spare PC which i then transferred my graphic card to test if it was working and it did work.

Anybody knows if the mobo is likely to survive?

and I am not going to purchase another Andyson power supply again

That depends on your luck. For some, just the PSU gone, for other motherboard gone too. it happened to one of my colleague. Rig go on/off problem power up, yet delay till totally unable to power on. Both PSU and motherboard gone.

don't jump the gun, try another PSU on your comp.

chances are it will function, just that the PSU has gone but it saved your system

if it didn't then you can consider another brand.

Good PSUs have a good built in safety system to prevent such things from happening. Just try out the other parts on a spare computer like what MADdancer said.

And, noted. Won't buy anything from that brand in the future.

If TS PSU is the one >>> meaning a F650 PSU, my PSU is exactly the same model !!

Eh, my Corsair AX860 which I bought 2 days back also died on me during 1st boot-up, give a loud pop sound and die.

Luckily never take down any of the component with it, went down to the shop and did a exchange yesterday, current one working fine in my rig.

Hardware failure can really happen to any brands de, depend on luck, if the PSU did not took down any components with it, its consider good enf le.. =]

Eh, my Cosair AX860 which I bought 2 days back also died on me during 1st boot-up, give a loud pop sound and die.

Luckily never take down any of the component with it, went down to the shop and did a exchange yesterday, current one working fine in my rig.

Hardware failure can really happen to any brands de, depend on luck, if the PSU did not took down any components with it, its consider good enf le.. =]

Chao tar smell most likely is PSU's cap burnt lioa, visually inspect see your mobo got any burnt mark or bloated cap?

If not, most likely is okay de, just test it with other PSU ba...

Since u have a spare PC, why not use that PC's PSU to test the whole of the other system? Then u will be sure whether the mobo survived or not.

Since u have a spare PC, why not use that PC's PSU to test the whole of the other system? Then u will be sure whether the mobo survived or not.

Btw, my previous Corsair HX620 is also having some issue le, saw some sparks flying out and got chao tar smell ...

Going to RMA tomorrow, the warranty is covered by Corbell previously, but nowadays Convergent is taking over Corsair's warranty claiming, so any bro here can advice whom to look for to RMA the faulty HX620?

there was a time they came in huge batch, like 2009-10 period. i oso considering then eventually play safe get a silverstone.
