reminds me that its about time to change my 4 year old andyson psu... corsair maybe?

Andyson "nuclear" psu naming just crack me up , hopefully it wont have the same nuclear exlposion when it fail...

I've an Andyson G480 using since 2009 till now. Haven't pop yet. But the OCZ bought a year later was gone case without any pop.

well is it has never given me problems. But as with all things electronic, I usually do a refresh every 3-4 years.

I see I see, good for u, last time i am using cooler master 500w psu for couple years also no issue, guess budget brand have much better lifespan for me compare to the premium ones..

for elites and gamers, yes but for normal home users and light gamers usually refresh every 5-8 years...

Those who refresh every 5-8 years are those who don't even DIY.

oh i do believe most ppl still using 5 yrs+ pc r DIY using "better" parts that r recommended by the forums and built by the shop.

u might have came across a few threads where ppl bought branded pc with endless problems...

F650 replacement?

Hi,

need some advice here:
I got a F650 pops on me and I need a replacement.
But when i review the specs; it says what 4pin + 4pin and i'm looking at seasonic P860 which is 4pin + 8pin.

Can the seasonic replace this andyson?
My system is i7-2600, with 4 harddisks, 1 ATI 6670 card, 1 DVD, mother board is gigabyte can't remember which model, but with 6 USB.

And I got 4 x stick of DDR3 ram installed (16gb).

Question:

1. will 860W seasonic able to supply the power required?
2. is this 4pin or 8pin thingy going to affect my connections?

4+4 and 4+8 I'm assuming is the CPU power cable? Should be no problem just plug the 8 pin one and leave the 4 pin alone.

860W PSU is overkill for your computer

450w fsp raider more than sufficient. I if you foresee upgrading gfx card in future can consider fsp raider 550w

any tips for setting this up? Havnt setup a new power supply before and i have to start with this one... kind of not sure how to connect the many cables to the mboard, hdsk etc..
