Umm, it's a no brainer if you're gonna spread legs open wide wide. Of course there's going to be high amount of patients?

Want the good things like gdp growth but cannot cater to the demand of medical treatment? How many neighbourhood 24hrs clinics available? Why not trial 24hours polyclinics? What happened to training skilled medical workforce to cater to the influx? Hindsight much?

I believe even if there ish no 'spread legs open wide wide', healthcare infrastructure ish also will be at the brink.

Enginnering healthcare to always be at the brink ish hab many benefits.
It drive up the raw healthcare costs
Sho govt gib many many subsidies.
Those elites with finger in the healthcare pie will huat.
While the peasants taking subsidies will fweel heypi with govt for making healthcare affordable.
It ish mechanism for elites to use taxes to buy their win gao gao.

Healthcare ish also absorb many many of the workforce.
Despite all the automations and streamlining and apps, more and more and more pple will be emproyed.
Directly or indirectly, doktors nurses, admin staff, even insurlance.
Social services, medical escorts, etc etc...
All feeding on the subsidized healthcare ecosystem.

Those of chiu whose elderly goes hospital, chiu ask ownself.
How many pple do chiu hab to interact with.
How many pple will call chiu up.
How many follow ups chiu need to do.
How many appointments, how many pple keep calling chiu for this daiji that daiji.

Lolz.

You mean the parents can claim from school if the kids Kenna minor injuries in school?

Students are covered by basic accidental injury in school. I remember subject to bare minimum amount and need to go public hospitals.

My nephew had a bad fall during a competition and hit his knee hard on the floor. He was in pain when limping. I brought him to a pte ortho for MRI (other than school's cover, he also had a pte personal accident cover).

School got us to submit our claims and we did (to both insurers as his pte cover think had a cap of $2000 for medical/investigative charges).

The reply from school's insurer (bill was paid in full by the pte cover and total bill, incl of physio, we didn't exceed $2000 and so the school's insurer didn't chip in didn't matter).

*coz of this restriction, some parents may have to die die bring their kids to public hospital A&Es in times of injuries in schools.

But A&E fees are extremely high. Why would people want to go there for common ailments?
Why not if they can claim from company? Some company I heard of only can visit government hospital or polyclinic for claiming purposes. But if go polyclinics without appointment is really gg, prepare to wait super long . That is why most people visit A&E , at least waiting time is better than polyclinic without appointment.

how to cut? 65% already voted for this.
There is one solution but surely get mislabeled as discrimination - segregate healthcare into two cluster

local doctors see local patients

imported doctors see foreigners, PRs, naturalized citizens and their families. So any errant policy by pap to mass import will only cause congestion in this cluster

High performing imported doctors can be promoted to serve local patients.
