as for full range of products that Convergent carry to be on sales at webstore also, we don't see that happening yet.

oh, and did i mention that there's FREE shipping for delivery on weekdays from 9am to 6pm? only for night delivery and weekend delivery, then there'll be a surcharge.


also, to celebrate our own webstore launch, we are having a special promo on 12th July, 0001 hours onwards. it's a 48hours promo, or whilst stocks last thing, whichever comes first. so, dun miss out on it.

TL,DR: The Convergent webstore right now is merely a transactional engine to perform offer, payment and delivery for products which do not fit Singapore's retail model. It is not competing with resellers and retailers.

For example someone wants to buy a crazy RAM for his 8 year old notebook. It's still made by Kingston, but you will not expect any notebook shop to carry it. So we'll put it into the webstore for somebody to buy and give us a mechanism to ship to him.

Another example, is the Knomo series. These are a selection of ultra luxury tech carrying bags. It's expensive, and retailers don't carry it because they can't fit it among the Targuses and Dicotas and the other budget brands they carry. Departmental stores have handbags. And wonderful stores like Cumulus and Nimbus do carry but they don't carry full range. We offer it for sale here.

Also, if Thermaltake releases a limited edition aluminium BMW case and only give us 2 pcs for $1500 and need us to donate to charity no retailer should carry it. Instead we'll do it through the webstore by bid.

Sometimes, companies release a web-only promotion in the USA. They offer to us in Singapore too, but we did not have the capability in the past. Eg. if Crucial offers to us a `one day' S$20 rebate per drive for online transactions, Crucial disallows this from brick and mortar stores, but will allow for audited web transactions. Convergent webstore will carry this promo for a day.

Clearance stock - superb but previous gen motherboards, keyboards, graphics cards, no reseller will carry them. But people do see value in cards like these, and we can use the webstore to fulfil great cost performance previous generation performance cards - user is happy and we don't lose so much money.

Great alternative brands which just cannot have presence in retail - like Aerial 7. Great brand, fulfils the desire to have very decent sounding headsets with daring design, sorta like beachwear. But Singapore's retailers stock tech headphones like AT, Klipsh, etc. which have huge marketing budgets, edging out `indies' like A7. If we choose clothing stores, they demand like 60% margin, impossible to fulfil with the high end models and only low end. To the webstore with these.

Bottom line: This webstore is filling gaps which the current high rental, low variety, conservative stocking retail pattern in Singapore. It is meant to offer higher variety to end users and rich selection and choice, which the retail scene does not want to offer such huge variety.
