Looking to build a HTPC with a budget ~$1,000

Parts that I have:
  1. I5-3570
  2. Windows 7 Ult

Requirements/Uses

Quiet
BluRay Rip -Transcode
1080 playback
3D Playback
Smallish Size

P.S: I was also thinking about seperate NAS / HTPC but not too sure if it will be underutilized in the sense that I live alone.

Help help thanks!

Yes.... would the V3+ be suitable as a casing ? Read some reviews online that heat may be an issue.

I do quite abit of transcoding myself, as a 1080p encoder for a release group.

My experience was that using the stock cooler with a budget case (sharkoon t28), with adequate cable management, my temps were going as high as 80 degrees under load.

Swapped over to the 212x with a corsair 760t and my temps are alot more cooling.

I feel that a mixutre of a good case with good airflow and a good cooler will help to bring your temps down alot, especially if you're going to be transcoding under load for a long time.

I probably(?) have to give more allowance on the size of the casing to balance aesthetics vs temperature.

Tried to lookup some cases:

Silverstone FT03, GD08

FD node 605
