I just ate hwa Heng beef noodle. The preparation for order is not fast because too many combinations and many steps. So queue is very long. But they are hardworking and master cook. Very kind hearted also.Cooking slowly to generate queue =/= master cook lol
He is very nice. I remember when I asked for more lard at Margaret drive, he will the turner to take out quite a bit of fried lard and asked "enough"? with a pleasant smile, I said ok and thank you. His cockles are big and many pieces in a plate. He's been cooking this same plate of CKT since the late 1960s when he learnt how to do it from a pushcart CKT seller. He said he was never good at his studies and was asked to help out at the pushcart.
He eventually had his own pushcart in the early 1970s where he was stationed near the post office in Queenstown, this was illegal back in the day and he had to run when the health inspectors (dae gu) came.
He eventually had his own stall, the familiar one many of us have come to love, at Margaret Drive. Over the years, he has always been the same friendly, smiling man, frying up plate after plate of CKT. It accompanied many of us growing up, as a child, going to school, ns, work, having our own family..
His dedication to serving up the same plate of quality CKT, having a smile for his customers while standing there in front of the hot wok doing this back breaking work every day for 54 years. I respect the hell out of this man and I'm going to miss his CKT.
Have a happy retirement Mr Low, you brought joy to a lot of people.
so sethlui is collecting income from the places he reviewed? i never trusted their reviewsImagine using ghost writers for your food blog.
Guy is just running a business, collects income from advertisements from restaurants, and has close to zero involvement in trying all the food and restaurants that he features.
