Why do you think until so complicated ? Your cheapest and most effective method is this.

It's not large actually, but of course, if you feel it's a hassle, then you better don't leave your eyes away from your laptop

You are asking for sophisticated solution which cost a lot more, but have you consider if they are effective at all ? All I need to do is dissemble your laptop and take out parts I'm interested in Do you think your security measure will still work ?

If you know you are going to some places and you are going to leave your laptop alone, then I suggest you have such a lock.

Question for you is, where are you going all the time ? Can you just leave the lock at the place you will be at, provided it's a place you will always be there.

Good question, no security better than eyeballs BTW My MBP can't have the battery taken out easily

swap a new one in
and walahhhh ! its a brand new laptop !

I'll make sure I come prepared with pentalobe screwdrivers and alcohol to break the adhesive bonds on the glue-ed down battery then.
