Would like to ask if I can buy the integrated shield plan for work permit holders like my helper. I heard that its possible but only certain companies offer that. AIA being one of them I heard. If not, then which companies offer integrated shield plan for work permit holders?

To be specific, I have some friends who are blue collar in Singapore. Think hawker assistants, factory workers etc. Asking for them if they're able to get the shield plan. I know some companies offer to EP holders, but not sure about work permit.

Some of the Integrated Shield plan providers sell their public hospital A ward plans to foreigners (individuals who are not Singaporean citizens and not Singapore Permanent Residents). That includes work permit holders. I know Prudential does, as an example.

None of them offer either their "as charged" public hospital B1 ward plans or Standard Plans to foreigners as far as I know.

The employer of a work permit or S Pass holder is fully responsible for their employee's medically necessary care, although a very modest co-pay is allowed if they consent. (Check the MOM's regulations.) The employer is required to obtain at least mandatory minimum insurance that covers their work permit and S Pass holders, but whether the insurance pays or not the burden still falls on the employer. Thus it may be reasonable to buy Integrated Shield plans for these employees. It may also be a benefit that helps attract and retain these employees.
