Any BlueRay archives recommendations ?

have you tried dvd archiving beforr? it becomes unreadable even if you store properly due to the dye breakdown

Yes, spring cleaning throw away a stack of cheap CDs due to molding...
So the dye disintegrate problems have not been solved in blueray?

IMHO.
Use multiple bare CMR HDDs.
Then come up with a system suitable for yourself.

Just to share my experience.
I put a very old audio CD into the drive on the PC. When it spun up, the CD disintegrated into millions of pieces.

Ya it sucks... Those expensive brand should last longer

Of course it works, just need to buy the correct disc to burn and proper storage. I have verbatim cd-r that still works, especially if stored in its own casing and not stacked in a spindle.

Now there's M-disc, but it think too gimmicky with the 1k lifespan as you won't have the reader to read it eventually. It does need a burner that works with it as well. You can try that instead of a typical BD-R.

Ripped to highest quality x265 (in 4k, HDR and ATMOS) format or ISOs then store in NASes.

Then use AndroidTV to play from network drives using Kodi. Recommend ShieldTV Pro.

You might want to check out the old BluRay drives you have lying around. If they have the M-disc mark, they should work.

I've looked at this previously. Not worth it compared to HDD for long term archive based on cost per TB.
