any comments on Dell Vostro 5460?

Good afternoon peeps

I am looking for a laptop to replace my 2 years + lappy . Am looking at Dell Vostro 5460 since it is with my budget of <1.1k.

Any comments on Dell after sale service or the product itself(heat up easily etc?)? Cant seem to find a reliable review online.

Personally i am looking for
-ultrabook coz needs to be portable.
-usage will be photoshop, word processing, autocad
-not for gaming

Or if there is any more recommendation, pls recommend. me also considering Macbook air but 14xx for 128GB only..

i just bought this yesterday from courts.

it is very cool to the touch and doesn't heat up at all. 1099 is not bad for 32gb ssd + 2 yr warranty. almost everything is good except for the wifi range.

the internal wifi is so horrible that i need to use an external usb wifi adapter to even surf smoothly on this laptop. it's not my router problem cos i have a galaxy s3 and even at the same spot the s3 works way better than the laptop's wifi.

all in all it's a good laptop - very light weight, good build quality, exceptional performance. it would have been perfect if not for the wireless adapter.

Can review more about this laptop? Like its hours etc? By the way i also notice that another version, Inspiron 14z, using 6-cell 44Whr Prismatic Internal Battery. Does it mean the battery cannot be removed?

battery is pretty decent. should be able to last you 4-5hrs of browsing. videos maybe 3. haven't really played around with the battery yet, but a full charge indicates about 4hr 50min of usage time on the windows battery profile.

Personal experience is tat the wifi signal strength seems weaker. Eg, in a spot where my Acer laptop will hve weak signal but still useable......Vostro cannot connect to network. It bugs me but not a deal breaker for me as it's useable in most parts of the house. The weight and the dedicated graphic card won me over.

From a price/performance perspective....it is a good deal...imho. Btw, I've the set without the msata...got it in the last IT show for $940 with upgrade to 8GB ram.

everything general can be removed. whether with screws or without only.

1 got good graphic card for Photoshop and other software
