Have booked my flight to the U.S.A on Philippine airlines (for the budget price). Any comments or feedback on this airline? Need to mentally prepare myself for the long haul.. been reading a few feedback online and it doesn't seem good ..lolz..

Not sure about their service on long flights.
I took Philippines Airlines back from Manila recently and the service was quite good.
Food was quite okay as well. I liked the chocolate mousse dessert on my way back.

You can try to book from here: http://www.philippineairlines.com/home/home.jsp

after researching all the booking options, surprisingly asiatravel.com is the cheapest :)

From the PAL website, you can book a ticket category named EconoLight, that is quite cheap. :)
For EconoLight, they do not give you mileage points but the service is very much the same.

From other websites, you can only book normal Economy tickets which is slightly more expensive.

Í've taken a flight to the USA via Philippine Airlines. Service is quite okay. The only complaint I had was the boredom of sitting thru a 12 hour flight with very few entertainment options.

This was, however, in 2005. Philippine Airlines has recently refurbished their planes, and some are fitted with new seats and personalized screens.

Reviving old thread...am thinking of taking PAL biz class to Toronto in a couple of months. Any sort of feedback? Seems they've got new 777s...

Thanks!
