First time daddy here... writing this on my laptop at TMC ward while my wife is changing my daughter's diaper. feels so unreal that it all happens so fast!

throughout the entire journey of pregnancy from pre-delivery to post-delivery the experience ive had is not entirely smooth sailing. especially at the start of picking the right gynae. the pricing for different clinics is not very transparent and not exactly publicly available (very competitive field i guess?). ended up at a pricer private clinic Dr Freda Khoo at Thomson Medical Centre and was extremely disappointed on the day of delivery. Might do a longer write-up with details and specifics on this.

Pricing I thought is usually transparent, did you ask? Just there are adhoc things that have to do which you didn't anticipate and hence sudden shock on the bill?

We went ahead with restructured hospital and experience was OK. The money saved will be put to practical use which you will experience soon.

Enjoy the process of sleeplessness and bonding, very soon she will grow up so pls don't stop cuddling her even when you are tired

I am more than 1st time ….

Life gonna be very different - for a start, every 2 hours will hear baby cry.
even if the your baby is a good girl, the commotion around a light sleeper will be quite challenging.

that said, very fast will be over la.
kids grow up

About the pricing - aiya.
$$ spent already, not say complain here, the doctor will refund you. Just see open and if there a second pregnancy, don’t choose the same doc lo.

Mine didn't really consider the pricing...
Because company subsidised part of it.

Gynae also we didn't choose... Went for fertility test, got assigned (did many tests but no reason why previous 2 miscarriages then also no reason why tried subsequently one year no results)... Doc said to continue try another 4 months before cleaning fallopian tubes so... End of 4 months success then check up with same gynae... Prescribed duphaston... Then continue same gynae all the way to delivery lo...

Expensive, because first time hence I wanted premium ward... Then thought can do without epidural, but each time the nurse/ gynae check my cervix dilation was really painful, they don't check at most I felt uncomfortable with the contractions that's all. After a super long time... Without food (thanks to the kancheong hubby checking me in when I haven't eat more breakfast from delifrance)... Got administered with laughing gas + epidural + in the end really no strength to push much (too hungry) so +vacuum = higher costs

1st of all congratulation!

so far for me when my wife gave birth everything was free only the special injection at the back during delivery so that she dont feel too much pain. overrall we are very please with the doctors and nurses all of them are very kind and friendly.

the most important is your baby is healthy and strong.
trust me it will be very tiring and many sleepless night but it is worth it u get to see how the baby grow everyday!.

i am a full time daddy after my dear wife gave birth i told her she dont have to do most of the thing at home because she carry the baby for 9 months already so i told her to relax and let me to the rest i of the house work and look after the baby.
now my baby girl she is 7 year old and very close to me

well last time before baby born its all about me and after baby is born its all about baby he or she comes 1st
so enjoy being a parent.
