Go for those on sale in Lazada.
Especially those with 10% discount using MasterCard every Monday.

Do take note to buy from Authorised Distributor by checking *Sold & Fulfilled By* distributor.

which is better? MX100 or intel 730?

MX100 if u want the acronics true image software to clone hdd/ssd.

Intel 730 if u want international warranty. Crucial dun have international warranty.

Im sure u r good enough to make own decision bah. :)

Even if there is, u cant tell the diff.

For me, i would go for MX100 since it is cheaper and comes with acronis which works with all ssd/hdd brands.

Even 120gb also have acronics. So, maybe can consider getting 1 for laptop or so? Then get intel 730 if u need int'l warranty.

Fastest SSD in the market now is Samsung 850 Pro. Thats provided you don't mind paying a premium for it.

Else any other brand will do fine. intel 730 is not exactly fast though.

sata only has 6gbit/s transfer..which i guess is ard 600++mb

intel 730 is said to have transfer of 550mb..so even is samsung 850 is faster most to most it hit the max transfer of sata technology

730 using Intel's own enterprise SSD controller, 530 using ubiquitous sandforce, which is notorious for being bad with incompressible workloads and buggy firmware.

At one point SandForce was the best controller. You probably haven't experienced the early JMicron controllers yet.

I heard those were horrid, luckily I wasn't able to afford SSDs at that early stage yet. :D My first was a Vertex 2....with sandforce :s8:

I just got the Samsung 840 evo at Lazada, $165 less $25 which is quite good with 3 yr local warranty :s12:

DBS cards have this promotion
"Get S$25 off storewide with a min. spend of S$100 when you enter 'DBSSALE' at checkout"
