Hi!

I'm a student going to bangkok in September alone. Does anyone know of cheap accommodation there? I've been looking around and most discussions are about hotels (cheapest maybe 35?) but I'm looking for even cheaper ones!

You walk out of the hostel, turn right and walk for about 20 steps and you can take the escalator to go to the BTS station alrdy, super convenient

Inside Lub D

4 bed shared dorm, i stayed in this type of room, air con is good, there is a cupboard, u can use ur own lock...

Each bed comes with individual bedside light/power socket (must put in room key)

Bed is good, with extra layer of bed sheet and blanket...

The bed is supported with a wooden platform instead of the usual attached metal frame of bunk beds, so when you toss and turn, the person sleeping below cannot really feel it...

Door is opened by magnetic room key...

Lobby with computers & internet, free wifi throughout Lub D...

You need access cards to get into the area that give access to the rooms...

Reception counter staff speaks decent/good English and are friendly and willing to help...

There was a chio siam bu on duty when i was checking out of the room and her..

Luggage room is behind the counter, so that u can store ur luggage there aft u check out or b4 u check in, very safe, only accessible by staff with access card...

There is a tour agent counter at the corner of the lobby, nice uncle can speak a bit of Chinese, they have many tours/activities that you can book ...

They provide van/taxi to go to airport as well... Van is 1,500 Baht, I forgot the price for taxi, only go for the van if u r in a big group, if not forget it, i took taxi to airport by hailing it just outside the hostel, which cost only 325 baht (45 baht + 25 baht toll fees inclusive) [took abt 1 hour as i left during peak hour ~ 5pm-ish] ...

There is a cafe where you can order drinks/food to eat and chill out at the lobby, there are 2 TV playing cable channels (HBO and 1 more movie channel) ...

Or you can chill outside the hostel...

Outside the hostel got street food, tailor, 7-11... Massage is 2 minute walk away... Walk out of hostel, turn right, at the next building turn right, you will pass by a carpark, walk straight, you will see a massage parlour (Golden Hand Massage, 200 baht for 1 hour foot massage inclusive of neck/shoulder massage, go with your friends as 1 massage = 1 stamp, get 10 stamps and you get 1 massage free)... Boss is male can speak Chinese and will only massage for you if the whole shop is packed and shorthanded, i was lucky to get him coz his strength is good... There is another massage parlour further down at 250 baht but looks more atas (facing the main road, so instead of turning right at the building, you walk straight)...

Price: I paid US$41 for booking fee and around 8400 baht for 4 person for 4 nights for 1 whole 4 bed dorm ... There is a 100 baht/person refundable deposit upon checking in...

If you dun have international adapter or dun want to bring, you can rent it for free at the reception but must pay 100 baht deposit...
