Hi guys! We have met up with 2 ID’s and feel quite comfortable with one of them. Would appreciate any suggestions, ideas, advise, tips if we can bring down the quotation cost. Is this a fair quote or? Basically, it’s for a 4 room Bto. TQ!

C1/2/5/6/7 are all cement screed breakdown. ID circle so easy for us to calculate full screeding cost.

According to ID, internal carpentry will be grey colored laminate.

when should i expect a ID to provide me with a 3D rendering /modeling design?

I been engaging an ID, for about more than 1 month for renovation of my new home, collecting keys on 17 feb 2021.

Been chasing him for the 3D rendering /modeling design, he gave me the initial draft but is way off what we expect and still lacking the design for bathrooms. keep telling me his designer is back to malaysia and, sometimes just give a minor amendment for us to review (just to buy time).

What should be the timeline i should expect a "proper" 3D rendering/modeling design? Or i should be more patient?

I understand reno wont start immediately after taking keys as need approval prior to start work...but i need the reno to complete before mid april before current rental lease ends..so abit concern of the timeline

I will be wary of such ID. I just worked with one, I can tell you ID themselves need to be managed as well. Never going to hire ID again. Useless

Is your 3D design before or after confirming quotation? If it’s after, honestly there’s nothing much you can do also right?

My ID rushed out the design for me in less than a week FYI

Does anyone have a reliable and decent contractor to recommend (which you have personally engaged before)? I met a few IDs to discuss about my resale, but quotation are mostly above my budget. I have a good idea of my design concept, so getting an ID also doesn't quite provide much value add.

Hi, I am going through contractors to do my current place. Can save abit but not all contractors are always cheap. I have 2 contractors.

I learn that contractor Y have good tilers, but he may jerk up his quotation on kitchen cabinets and aluminum doors. Thus I only engage him to do tiling and even out the holes on the walls.

Contractor X is sincere and more on the ball . However, still monitoring.

Hi, can you share with the contact for Contractor X? What is his scope of work for your current project?

AVOID HOMEGROUND INTERIOR DESIGN PTE. LTD.

Avoid HOMEGROUND INTERIOR DESIGN PTE. LTD. at all cost.

The owner Lee Jiun Hsien Jay has very bad reputation.

We used Dennis from colourbox.
Same situation as you.

So we redid flooring to vinyl, put some KompacPlus for lotsa kitchen tops, epoxy balcony and 2 toilets, installed bottom kitchen cabinets. Painted all walls ~900sqft excl aircon ledge, did a pelmet, $25K (up from original 20K as there were some hidden niches that needed filling)

We told him exactly what colour and finishing we wanted where. No issues. Started in Aug, finished by end Sep.

Finishing is not top grade though - epoxy has some flaking here and there. But we are fine..

You measure the door. Then scale the floor plan to the door size. There you'll get the dimensions. Anyway, door sizes are pretty standard. Use that to scale the floor plan.
