Hi, does anyone know of any brand new laptops available locally that has AMD CPU + AMD GPU??

Most of the time only see Intel CPU + AMD GPU. But having AMD GPU fitted in a laptop is rare too...

HP Probook 645 G3. Call HP sales direct or a HP partner to check for availability

http://www8.hp.com/sg/en/products/laptops/product-detail.html?oid=11623682#!tab=specs

If you're an AMD fan, note that the unit may come fitted with Intel wifi module :s13:

Cool! I didn't found that when I did a normal search on HP SG recently.

Actually no, I am a lifelong Intel and nVidia fan. :D:D

Had 2 bad experiences with AMDs before... But the last was more than 10 years ago liao with the K7 AMD Athlon. So I wanna see how much AMD has improve since then but lazy to build a new desktop. :s13::s13:

AMD user here, not worth it for previous gen.
I have a few died already after a year or so.
My last was Asus X550DP based on AMD Richland, died of overheating after
three years.
If you really want, can check with Newstead since they are the only known
retailer that bring in AMD.

Now you hardly see AMD based notebooks, maybe due to antitrust here
or poor retail value of AMD.
If you can wait, wait for AMD Ryzen based APU but that maybe near the end of the end.

For the time being, the only way to get AMD notebook is through Amazon or US retailers. You can try call brands like HP and etc., they will say that AMD is exclusive to US market only. :s22:

No money to buy MacBook... Only can afford to eat MacDonald's.

The AMD GPU attached to laptops available here are mostly entry lvl GPUs. Intel's onboard graphics is even better than the AMDs.

I bought it during the recent IT show for $699. So far I am really satisfied with it so far! However I have some difficulties in trying to change the default graphics card from the APU (Radeon R5) to the GPU (Radeon R5 M430).

It is similar to Nvidia Optimus, if you are not gaming or doing
intensive thing it will use the APU graphics.
The M430 will only kick in when needed like in games and etc.

FYI, yours should have crossfire/Dual graphics enabled so no need to worry.
However if you really want to use the M430 like say for Chrome.
You can do this:

Go to the settings shown, select the application than select performance mode.
This will use the M430 instead of the APU but for web surfing wise you don't need to use it.

In anyway not possible to use the M430 alone especially if you are on battery.
Hope this helps.
AMD FTW! Somehow my Asus X550DP AMD A10-5750M somehow woke up. :s22:

Thought was died, anyway I am sharing since I am using a much older AMD APU laptop. :)

Hi bro, thanks for the reply. Why does your AMD software have so much more options on the left panel than mine?

So I set it to High Performance in this picture it will use the R5 M430 and if I game halfway and switch off the charger, the laptop will automatically switch back to just the normal R5?

I am using Asus X550DP which is actually a 2013 model.
Maybe the OEM application profile & driver for yours is much
updated than mine.

They may have lock some apps probably they recommend
to run on the APU than the dedicated graphics.

For apps/games if you select high performance and if it is on battery
it will still be on the M430 even if you switch off the charger.
Unless you exit the game than it will revert back to the IGP.

Hope this helps.

Hi bro, I see. Actually i downloaded the driver directly from AMD's website. So maybe they revamped the UI of the Catalyst app.

I see got it. How abt overclocking? Is it possible to overclock my AMD A8-7410 CPU and Radeon R5 M430 GPU?

Not recommended, risk of overheating the laptop is very high.
