Any point to upgrading RAM for NAS?

Hi all

For the QNAP TS-251+ that comes with 2GB RAM, there's an option to upgrade to 8 or 16GB DDR3 SODIMM.

If I'm running the NAS mainly as a home music server to stream music, stream movies occasionally and as a backup for my important files. Would I see much/any benefit to upgrading the RAM or don't bother? Thanks

I dun own QNAP, but for both my Synology DS415+ and DS416+II, the RAM hardly gets maxed out.

If u want to run virtualised servers via Dockers, u will need to upgrade ur RAM because the the RAM will not be enuf.

Thanks. Not planning for any virtualization at the moment, so I guess I'll save my money for now
