Some blatant advertising here ky meh
Of course must "ke yi", we SG already failing in tech and innovation from locals perspectives.

Actually if you go to those FinTech events in SG it is the same, like mostly foreigners with company registered in SG at Telok Ayer, or almost all Singaporeans representing foreign companies.

So even if "cannot", also must "can" now. If anything else it is GLC-owned platforms trying to curb away the local business/local innovations, so almost all SG people have to rely only on government jobs or MNC or only muddle in more non-tech things like tuition/gym/swimming lessons etc

SG is at least 10 years behind in paradigm shift, tech and innovation since 20 years ago minimum.

Back in early to mid 2000s, when big bookstores (Borders, Times, Kinokuniya) were still around and the internet was still in its infancy stage (remember Hotmail, Yahoo websites?), a few of my acquaintances and I tried to start an online store selling physical books.

Guess what? The publishers snorted at us and we got rejected because our initial orders will be too small. They wanted and demanded a minimum order quota, like those from the big bookstore chains. In addition, it's either no delivery or deliveries at their own schedule too. Their mindset? "Hey, those big bookstore chains are our BIG customers. You're nothing, giving us no sales at all. And... what is that thing about online bookstore huh? Shoo shoo, f off, don't waste our time!"

Ended up that business didn't take off and we disbanded.

After that as we all know, e-commerce caught up, online bookstores selling physical books took off, those big bookstore chains closed down and now we have e-books.

Good advice. The lack of a shop front is detrimental to my operating model as I don't have a physical centre myself.
It is possible to do okie without a shopfront but ROI will be limited. At best $1-2K after expenses.

Class scheduling will be an issue since u probably lease one room, and cannot accommodate different grades.

Lastly, difficult to do marketing since ur class schedule is limited.

Long story short, u should get ur own place at some point.

I was right. My account now "banned" by Hardwarezone admins for stupid reasons

I think the HWZ admins never study school before so don't know why I separate two account one with my own name and one with company name as the username. This is called separation from entity. Same like ACRA company is entity, individual is individual.

Keep on fighting for tech innovation and entrepreneurship, fellow Singaporeans! (This account may also get banned for stupid reasons but I don't mind)

No longer work as how it was many years ago.

I've been doing SEO for more than a decade.
I still have some websites that score in the top few positions.
Whitehat/Blackhat, parasite, guest post, etc done it all.

My content can even get wiki links.

These days Google has an active algo change, the algo change as they like all the time, no longer major updates.
And they seem to make website tank before the peak seasons so people will be crazy in buying their ads.

Long tail keywords work in getting traffic, but getting that traffic can convert to sales is not easy.
Waiting for people to use your article is a super long shot.
I rather do other things to get better results.

It really depends on what you are selling.
Some services, using traditional flyers, cold call, etc, spam emails all these work better in targeting.

SEO is only half the battle, if your conversion is little, you don't know how to entice people to click or urge people to see the importance or urgency for your service, it's just wasted traffic.

What i recommend to people is don't use Ads.
It's no longer and will be less effective.
Especially when people are increasingly using AI to get answers.

Google ads is really nonsense, they no longer allow exact phrasing. You aim for apple, they show people looking for banana.
They just want you to waste your marketing budget.
And their best and recommended strategy aka "Performance Max" is basically showing your ads to people who have visited or buy before, this is known as "remarketing". And spam on other spam displays like android, youtube, etc.

The "remarketing" of course will have higher conversion, since someone who say bought from NTUC online, is more likely to buy again than someone who has never bought from them before.
So the metric that you see, you see that the conversion is not bad, which is deceiving.
The visibility is not bad, because it's spammed really as spam.

Buyers either buy from the most reliable with best review or the best price.
Shopee Amazon Taobao and PDD all these are testimonials that aiming for competitive price is the best marketing strategy.

Also having a shopfront, despite being much more expensive than an office.
The shop has a front and exposure. It gives active awareness to people who see it.
That can be refined with visual merchandising or retail planning.

Diff businesses, may be better off using different strategies.
The correct approach is to know what niche you are doing and allocate your marketing budget wisely.

A tuition centre, F&B, selling merchandise online, reno contractor, all employ different strategies.

Where to learn seo
These days there are plugins that help u do onsite SEO.
You just have to follow through.

There are other SEO factors like backlinks, what keywords to tackle, etc.

There's one agency located overseas which look quite solid
I never use them, but the founder does a lot of tests to identify what works so you can learn deep level stuff
I think reveal also no use, because you need to get the fundamentals right by yourself first.

For a small team, I’d keep training practical: write a short SOP for lead handling, customer replies, and handover, then review a few real cases each week. For advertising, use separate landing pages or enquiry forms for each channel, plus UTM tags and a simple spreadsheet showing cost, leads, appointments, and actual paying customers. That makes agencies accountable too.

When I had both calls and messages coming in, Drop Cowboy was worth evaluating for putting SMS, voicemail follow-ups, tracking, and CRM updates in one workflow. Just use consent-based outreach and check the DNC and opt-out settings before running campaigns.

My sales x 3 since my last post here.

Like a typical product life cycle, my business was nearing the decline phrase and some stagnant.

So since I could retire and I don't mind ending it, I did some bold experiments. I cut away those slow growth, low market share business and focused on strong sellers.
Sales did very well then now start to have some decline again.

During this period, I also went to take a diploma and a degree in modern digital marketing and data analytics. Now, no time to fine-tune further but I am alot sharper than before and I've solved my biggest weakness, converting data to actions. Data piping and make better decisions. I partially integrated AI but I think can integrate more, Wil later figure more on Ai integration then deploy into my business. :o

came in after reading that news abt the lady suicide due to work injury as this thread happened to pop up.

talking to friends n seeing how they can easily claim medication etc from co. went to check mom but they say co need to pay full but how come big enterprises asking my friends to co-pay? i think co-pay is gd to ensure people dont abuse the system. imagine can take mc + get medical covered = win win. then those older n need to go regular check at polyclinic n such, everytime take medicine $100+ and if they smoke etc, how come become co problem to pay for them? then why they have medisave n yet cannot claim from their own medisave? so i think mom is not v clear abt this whole thing. no wonder co ask people go for screening n want to employ the younger ones. less problems but just that some jobs younger people dont want to work.

so just kpo, how does small time boss even handle this kind of regular medication? is it the co fault that the worker has 3 high or it is worker fault that has 3 high. something that i wonder for a while.. like how taxi drivers n grab also dont have medical coverage etc. even though edmw always say govt pro co but when i see from another pov, i think is govt pro workers n didnt give clear instructions on such health issues. like if they go for regular checkup then is this under mc or day off? just liked i told my boss cannot give worker too fast medical fees. else there is only encouragement when those regular sick cat like to give mc to escape work etc n yet, can get claims fast for medical. how does HR even prevent this from happening?
