I used it the SIM version for JP,CN including HK....works.
Need to enable roaming to work so if U really scared....remove the SG SIM card so that no matter how it roams also wouldnt roam until your SG telco.

it is called go to settings to disable mobile data on your pri SIM lah . and don't enable mobile data swop.

Simi take our SIM card ? I have never ever faced a issue with this.
