Those who know... Knows... Those who don't thinking will improve their speed due to equipment location or out dated equipment... No diff.... Those provider wanna up sell many. And you need a 10G switches to wire all up in the room. It runs very hot and expensive

think many users just want fanciful 10 gbps without realising at their end, their equipment also must be able to handle the super fast speed. Using an iphone 8 and expect to achieve the max speed is like 痴人说梦话.

I can’t even get 100mbps on 4g router SIM card . Heck 50mbps also cannot get

In the past, I only needed 4 Mbps to watch Netflix properly, and I was already happy when I saw 40 Mbps. Now I’ve been on a 1 Gbps fibre broadband plan for a while, and I can get around the following result on both wired and WiFi.

If I were to subscribe to more bandwidth, I’d want to see results that match my new plan. Just because I paid for it, even if I don’t really need it. ;)

Yes, 1 Gbps means 1,000 Mbps. Upload speed is usually slower than download probably due to the server. I look more at the download speed and check that the upload speed is not like 10% of download. WiFi 6 is really fast. WiFi 7 is even faster.

I’m still using the old black SingTel router. Once, I only got 100 Mbps and lower. I fixed it by using the troubleshooting menu item and tapped on “Next” all the way.

The old router does not have WiFi 6. I have another router to facilitate this.

My broadband is 2.5gbps which I think is already an overkill. Some of the switch and NIC are still 1 Gbps which I am in the process of upgrading it.
