Anyone else have a Xiaomi standing fan 2 lite? Is the airflow bad for yours as well?

Got one recently but the airflow seems really weak at speed 1 and 2, and at speed 3 it sounds like a jet engine so is unusable. Compared to my old KDK box fan, it is night and day...my old KDK box fan (similar to this : https://www.kdk.sg/shop/general-fan/box-fan/ss30h.html) can cool the entire bed, the Xiaomi can only cool my head if i place it very close to the bed pointed at my head on speed 2, but the rest of my body feels hot.

If i position the Xiaomi fan at the same spot where my KDK fan used to be, i cannot feel anything at all. But my KDK fan can cool my whole bed at the same spot on the lowest speed setting.

Im just using the button nearest to the power button to control the speed, dont even have the app installed. I find it very strange that the fan was advertised to be able to cool an entire room easily, but i cannot feel the airflow unless i am very close to the fan.

I also bought that xiao mi fan , the speed cmi , only number 3 got wind but noisy.

when I test at xiao mi shop, because surrounding is noisy, so you wont feel the noise from the fan at number 3 speed ...

but when go home use in quiet room is...very noisy

i have 1 same model as you.

compared to my midea 16 in fan, the xiaomi fan speed is actually quite weak.
xiaomi fan speed need to be 3 to feel something. 1 and 2 is useless. the sound at 3 is still bearable for me.

Thanks for the confirmation. I think they tried too hard to focus on the low noise level, so speed 2 is too weak to be of use, and speed 3 is too noisy.

Planning to get a new fan...do you guys think this will be relatively quiet with good airflow? https://shopee.sg/Cornell-Stand-Fan...578-4685-b38e-8301c3aa6210&is_from_login=true. The "DC motor white" version.

Not sure why my KDK box fan's airflow is so strong though. Is it because of the box shape?

Maybe KDK / Panasonic motor good. Metal blade -> heavier -> better momentum.

KDK is a good brand. Used it when young. Still used the same brand. The motor is good. They are focussed unlike Xiaomi, not sure what their core competence is. Fan? Phone? Vacuum Cleaner?

one good thing about this xm fan though is its damn easy to take apart and wash clean. all plastic, so can just spray water sua

i cannot stand those fans that secure the grille together with that stupid plastic band thing. sometimes can sui sui 1 shot snap in place ez, but more often than not, you have to fumble around

last time design got the 3 tabs that you just turn also good, but the metal grille so prone to rust if in contact with just a bit of water

ur knowledge really big wow sia.....

when fan turn, it goes against the airflow resistance...
more torque = more noise......
more blade = more noise....
metal blade = more noise....

xiaomi fan is design for light sleeper. this is why advertise like breeze. :cautious:

household standing fan do not cool the room, it cool chiu only
ceiling fan cool chiu and the whole room

Just get kdk/panasonic. The end.
:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Buy kdk AC fan with plastic blade. I find this is balance between noise and wind flow. The metal blade too noisy. But must remember AC fan hor, dc no power one only good when you use in aircon room.

Those old enough especially from Malaysia will know, kdk fans never spoil one. Their ceiling can last 30-40yrs easily or until you tear down the old house, the fan still works.. haha ... That's the reason they when bankrupt and bought over by Panasonic, buy their fan one time and rarely have to buy again unless move new house.. When come to fan, I only buy kdk.
