Hi experts,
Planning to get a laptop like i5 8th gen with 8gb ram,
Thinking of getting Ryzen 5 but not sure how good it is.

Anyone faced any issues with Ryzen?

My budget is below 1k.
I do very basic video editing,need gd sounds,if possible thin and light below 2kg. Must be 15.6 inch.

Shall i go for ryzen or stick to intel i5?
I need in february so shall i wait for 10th gen ?
Advise pls

Do u game on ur laptop? If not, go for Intel. If u intend to play games(csgo, OW), Ryzen 5 will be a better choice. My IdeaPad S540 with Ryzen can play OW without any issue at 1080p low settings.

Get the lenovo online. if u have edu account can get 100-200 discount.

I dont recommend the 10th gen because it have not changed since 6th gen (2016). Still using skylake architecture.

If you want ryzen, you have a few choices

About $500 can get aspire 5 from amazon.sg. has 15 inch ips screen. Comes with dual core 3200U.

For about 800 you can get thinkpad E595. Comes with quad core 3500U. If you want cheaper the 3200U is about $70 cheaper

If you want intel, go challenger they have an acer model with mx250.

If you want good battery life you should go for ryzen because the cpu and gpu use about 15w under load. If you go intel route it use 15w + mx250 use another 15w
