Anyone given up ebooks like me?

After purchasing and reading about 20 ebooks, decided to go back physical book.

Reason:

I read faster with physical book as is less tiring to the eyes.

Faster to refer back to something i miss earlier in previous chapter.

Different publisher got different aglinment and font so reading a new book is something new. Ebook is always the same font and alignment.

Physical book are getting cheaper

Mass market paperback is lighter than a tablet/ereader ( i do not read 2 books simultaneously)

Get a kindle paperwhite. E-ink doesn't strain the eyes. I can read for hours without discomfort.

I used to say such things, but later learned that books take up space, collect dust and some even turns yellow. Eventually bought a kindle and never regretted. E-ink is easy to read, i can fly between books and chapters with my thumb alone and can simply press and hold onto an unknown word to check it up on the dictionary in one second.

I see so many people struggling to read on ipad or other non e-Ink devices. No wonder they don't enjoy it.

Borrow a proper ebook reader (aka kindle, nook, kobo etc) and see the difference.

I made the jump and never looked back.

Nowadays, I prefer ebook for fiction books and paperback for non-fiction books.
The reason is simply my memory retention with paperback is better than ebook. Though I do admit that ebook is convenient.

I agree with everything ts said, except one thing: the physical books where got getting cheaper? If anything they're getting more expensive!

Definitely prefer reading physical books due to the feel factor.. However in terms of flexibility it cannot beat an eebook reader

Bought from book depo, mass market paperback about $12 to $13.

I still enjoy reading physical books for the experience. But eBooks are good for on the move. As others have mentioned, you should try a device like Kindle. I don't have one but tried one of my friend's and was really tempted to get one myself... if I wasn't a penniless peasant toilet cleaner
