different for everyone.
i drink two cups of green tea daily (brewed using leaves, not instant pack), doesn't help with reduction of LDL/triglycerides. I drink for the nice taste and healthier instead of coffee.

Trust me. Exercising is not enough.

I ran 40-50km weekly also cannot bring down my LDL from 4.8 mmol/L.

It's the diet that brought down my LDL to 2.8 mmol/L.

true, effect of exercise only contribute a small fraction
next best if diet, at least double that of exercise.
but bestest unfortunately is medication
so if no sickness, watch your diet, especially saturated fats in fried stuff and all meat except fish.
one myth about seafood especially shellfish like prawn has high cholesterol but this dietary cholesterol may not contribute to LDL

Fish you have to watch out mercury, if the fish happen to eat meat :s13:, like shark or even certain type of tuna

200 gm of veg, any veg, per meal is my 'weapon' (if cannot meet this during weekdays, try to meet it during weekends).

Let food be your medicine. (most of the time I buy from Giant, 3 packets, 600 gms total, for $2).

dont think this is entirely right, cholestrol is manufactured by the body. Poly unsaturated fats is actually bad for the body due to oxidation into free radicals as well as trans fat. Mono saturated fat however dont get oxidize easily.

I'm not a professional dietician or medical practitioner.

I'm mainly shared what's my higher LDL level and how I managed to reduce to a more acceptable level (a level where docs find more comfortable and not prescribe medication).

The problem with nutrition science is if one is willing to dig, one can find studies that supports or disprove anything.

I'm purely sharing what works for me, in bringing down the LDL levels. Just read with a pinch of salt.
