Today, I went to a shop at Far East Plaza to sell an ipad mini 2. This ipad mini was won at a company function. It was unopened, and since I already have 2 tablets; I didn't want another one so I thought it'd be best to sell it! Then the shop owner showed me that the ipad mini had been activated after keying in the serial number (?) shown on the back of the box on her iphone. She said that the website is from the Apple store. I wasn't able to tell if that was really from the Apple store. However, all I know is that the box was all sealed up and not opened at all. However, she insisted that it had been activated and could not offer me a higher price for it. Does anyone experienced this or know how it can be activated when the box is all sealed up? She further added that it can be opened and sealed back! I was like... stunned! All the while I thought that if the box is unopened and all sealed up; it's as good as NEW!

If unsure, log into Apple website at home or on your own phone. If it shows its activated that means its activated.

Its not difficult to buy those machines that can shrink wrap boxes. Most D&D prizes are not bought anyway and usually sponsored. Maybe the company which sponsored your company gave you a used item.
