I don't see anything over at pace.com. They're definitely using GPL programs: SingTel Pace A5520N - Imgur

as for the source code... You can still build closed source stuff from opensource components. It really depends on the license, and on what you mean by "use".... Check with singtel?
right! keep us updated!User kahn shared the Singtel technicians' interface URL and credentials here: PACE A5520N Advanced Settings & Bridge Mode - www.hardwarezone.com.sg It's URL: http://[Pace Address]/singtel/ User: Technical Password: T3ch_L0g1n
What I find fishy is how the "/en_US/tech/license.html" Acknowledgements link is visible only from technicians' interface and not the users' admin interface. There's no issue with BSD & MIT licensed components, but I'm certain they've had to modify the GPL programs to compile against their hardware. (I've just ordered a second-hand A5520N, gonna take that apart to see if I can peek at the firmware.)
If the source code is made available, it'd be trivial to fix some annoying problems like valid passwords getting rejected if the router IP address is mapped to a friendly name in /etc/hosts. Also unlock USB printer / storage connections (which appear to be implemented but disabled by SingTel). And the 4 VOIP lines (this might be possible already in the technician's interface) for foreign POTS numbers.
I've already dropped Pace a quick email, gonna give them a week to respond and maybe try SingTel. I also need to find a local code contributor to one of the GPL programs listed for a GPL violation complaint, if they do not comply.
right! keep us updated!
