Hi guys,

i have been using intel 520 ssd for months now, but recently my PC is acting up.
Having hard reboots, gfx driver not responding issues, issue with DirectX files.
Initially i thought it was PSU issue as my one was like coming to 5years, so i changed it...ran for a day or 2 looks good. Reformatted my Whole PC since i cant solve the directX issue...
After the reinstall, everything was fine. I ran the "Trim" feature from the intel ssd toolbox, after that i notice my Chrome browser Icons changed to those icons where windows is unable to detect what application the file is associated to, chrome still works. The next day, my gfx driver not responding issue came back, there was also a BSOD as well. I reinstalled my gfx driver, now it seems fine for 4 days now. My Kaspersky AV reported a crash yesterday that it couldn't start up properly and hard to restart......

I started googling and found that alot of intel 520 SSD are having issues with their SSD after running it for sometime...due to sandforce firmware issue...

I am pretty much at a lost now, not sure if its a gfx card issue or a SSD issue...Currently i am abit geared to SSD issue, since i cant explain why after a reinstall everything always works fine for while then it starts to act up again...

Anyone else having similar issues?

since the intel 520 has a five year warranty, you should bring in to intel to do a check

Ya, i think i will do that if it acts up again....pretty troublesome to send it in. Have to clear the data, then i have to install another drive if i want to use my PC while the SSD goes for medical.

Trying using programs such as CrystalDiskInfo to check the health of your SSD. Hope it helps.

hmm.. intersting. I think yours is a special case. I too have been using Intel 520 SSD for a while now & never had any issues like you are stating. Have you updated the intel drivers recently? I was recommended to perform this by my friend soon after the installation.

Do a RMA ASAP. If it is within 7 days, bring back to the shop you bought to do a RMA.
I had the same problem, even with the latest firmware.
Machine hangs and frequent blue screens.
It is due to the SandForce controller.
You won't be able to diagnose using any software. It is just random.

I steer clear of SandForce now. Only use Samsung or Crucial for now.
