Anyone know how to fix?

My pc is an Alienware r8 i7 8700 with a 2080 i notice that I will get Low fps in fortnite and Minecraft two game that requires more cpu power
Fortnite I would get mostly 30 fps to 70 it spikes and only 200 fps at Low and it even have fps drops to 40
in Minecraft my fps will not go above 150 it cant go above 12 chucks or else it will have fps drops and when I spawn some npc
the fps will drop a lot I don’t know why my cpu is struggling on Minecraft but I think that any game with AI controll npc will have a hard think to run
cpu temp will something go 80 drop back to 60 then 70 then 80 then 60
gpu temp is 70
i don’t think it is driver but it also could i don’t know
minecraft optifine on

Check if your CPU fan spinning? Seems like CPU being throttled.

cpu fan are spinning is it normal for cpu usage to be 100% when booting up Minecraft

well 8th gen is weak...

upgrading to 12 gen 12700k will double cpu performance

What's your cpu cooler ? Seems like cpu cooler not working well?

Alienware desktop have bad airflow as well cooling so thermal throttling is a known issue.
Two things you can try:

- Update the BIOS from Dell website.
-Do clean install of Windows than install latest driver from Dell website.
Including the graphic card driver, it maybe outdated version but
it may work better than Nvidia latest release.

Try these two whether does it solve the thermal throttling issue or not.

Seems to be a thermal issue. If its a thermal issue, clean install of windows doesn't help because it is a thermal issue, not a SW issue.

Please make a good habit of listing down brand, OS, all components and their age of your computer. Easy to help.
BTW, did you contact alienware for help ?

continue use a hwmonitor to monitor the temp and the speed of the cpu and gpu.

if its alre running at the supposed mhz, nothing else u can do. and also monitor its temp.

try to close your background programs as well, cos i have seen friends on multi-application which can cause reduction in FPS.

It is 10% less than ryzen 5600x
