Anyone mining bitcoin?

I am planning 2 x 290x for bitcoin mining. Of get ASIC. I saw one 400GH/s for just 2.5K USD.

what is all these about?
any1 can explain in a few line or make into layman term?

why mineing require so much gpu power and not cpu ?

Use GPU to mine scrypt coin, use ASIC to mine bitcoin.

Unless new cgminer software can optimise 290x to raise speed to 1000 kh/s, get 7970 or 7950. They are the best p/p currently.

what is all these about?

it is like how ppl use Firepro or Quadro card instead of CPU

Abstract. A purely peer-to-peer version of electronic cash would allow online

long as a majority of CPU power is controlled by nodes that are not cooperating to
attack the network, they'll generate the longest chain and outpace attackers. The
network itself requires minimal structure. Messages are broadcast on a best effort
basis, and nodes can leave and rejoin the network at will, accepting the longest
proof-of-work chain as proof of what happened while they were gone.

what exchanges are you guys using to withdraw the $ from mining, and our only option is international wire is it?

any recommendations please, I monitor currency prices off BTC-E but not sure if I want or even can use their platform to safely transfer $ made..

Current price of 1k USD for 1 btc, I think investing in some good hardware can be worth it.

for 13btc, that's about $13000, let's set btc at $1000 for easy calculations.

at present difficulty, a 400gh/s machine would give $305/day

so he needs 42+ machines, at $8000 per 400gh/s machine (knc miner, bitfury are around 8k) he would need 340k.

I've used prices from a few months ago because it takes 1-2mths at least to deliver the machines.

actually to calculate breakeven, it's not that simple.

difficulty changes every cycle, usually 10 days or so, for the past changes since aug till now, the rate of change is 30-35%. so it maybe difficult to breakeven unless the prices go up exponentially.

13btc
13btc x 1000/btc = $13,000
based on today's difficulty of 70million.

a 400gh/s machine gives $305/day

13,000/305 = 42+
