This is a rock solid, well managed company, good as long as the political system and institutions here remain strong and stable. Its fortunes are closely linked with Singapore, you can treat it as a play on the long term growth of the economy.

its gonna be stable but at the same time, without much fluctuations, u can expect to earn much from it..so it ultimately depends on your risk appetite :)

IMHO Singpost is not a stable stock to own. At all. Stable business, yes, but stable stock?? NO. The recent share price spike is largely due Alibaba’s investment into the company. But has the operational performance grown in tandem with the share price such that the profitability ratios are similar prior to the investment? Go figure.

Anyway, about the potential of e-commerce, just go ask your friends who are working in the logistics industry about their views. My experience is that most logistics service providers are earning scraps from their e-commerce customers. E-commerce customers often have little revenue to pay their 3PL service providers well, and their service requirements (same day delivery, reverse logistics, crazy volume, complex IT systems requirements) sucks up a lot of manpower and management attention. Yes, e-commerce is here to stay, but whether Singpost can profit from it, I doubt so. Whether is this company is worth holding for a year (with capital “guaranteed”)? Don’t even think about it.

depends on what price it is bought. imagine buying at 93cent...capital already guaranteed unless overnight plunge below, company crash and burn lol
